In just over a week some of the top World Wrestling Entertainment wrestlers will take part in the Royal Rumble 2024 event. Considered one of the four major Premium Live Events, this year the Royal Rumble event is set to be massive.
CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and many more are set to feature during this year’s event. There are also speculations about few big names appearing in the event. It is widely known that the winner of the event will get a championship match in the main event of WrestleMania.
In this article, we take a closer look at the top seven wrestlers who have lasted the long time in the ring in WWE Royal Rumble history.
7- Roman Reigns – 59 Minutes and 48 seconds
One of the greatest wrestlers of this era is none other than Roman Reigns. The Head of the table lasted just 12 seconds short of an hour during the WWE Royal Rumble in 2016. In what was an agonizing end, HHH dumped Roman Reigns over the top to win the contest.
6- Chris Jericho – 1 hour and 13 seconds
Currently, with AEW, Chris Jericho has created a lot of moments during his illustrious WWE career. The former champions lasted for an hour and 13 seconds after entering the WWE Royal Rumble as the second participant. Y2J was eventually eliminated by Roman Reigns as Randy Orton won the match.
5- Triple H – 1 Hour and 16 seconds
Often called the Cerebral Assassin there is no record that Triple H doesn’t hold. During the 2006 WWE Royal Rumble, HHH last well over an hour and looked to be the favorite to win. Rey Mysterio though played the spoilsport and threw him out of the ring.
4- Bob Backlund – 1 hour 1 minute and 10 seconds
The veteran wrestler entered WWE Royal Rumble 1993 to win the event and reclaim his title. Yokozuna though had other plans as he eliminated Bob Backlund after the veteran stood tall for over an hour.
3- Chris Benoit – 1 hour 1 minute and 31 seconds
Perhaps the only wrestler whose feats in the ring have forever been tarnished by his actions. During the WWE Royal Rumble 2004 event, Chris Benoit won the event. The Canadian grappler was in the ring for over 61 minutes before being declared the winner.
2- Rey Mysterio – 1 hour 2 minutes and twelve seconds
Coming into the 2006 WWE Royal Rumble, Rey Mysterio was considered an underdog. The Mexican high flier though defied odds to stay in the ring for over 62 minutes. The master of the 619 also went on to win the match and also the title in WrestleMania that year.
1- Daniel Bryan – 1 hour 76 minutes and five seconds
This did not take place in the regular WWE Royal Rumble event but during an event in Saudi Arabia in 2018. Daniel Bryan lasted over 76 minutes during the Greatest Royal Rumble match which consisted of 50 participants. Braun Strowman won the even after eliminating Big Cass to win the match.
