Mutli-time WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee (formerly known as AJ Mendez) just underwent a striking physique makeover. In the Stamford-based firm, Lee participated actively for over six years, holding the Divas Championship three times. But in April 2015, the 36-year-old announced his retirement from ringside action and quit WWE. She has since started writing books and screenplays. The former champion works for Women of Wrestling as an executive producer and colour commentator.

Lee revealed an incredible physique transformation in a recent Instagram image, looking considerably more muscular than she did during her time in the WWE. The former Divas Champion admitted that she had been "bulking" in the caption.

In recent years, AJ Lee has concentrated mostly on WOW: Women of Wrestling, for which she serves as executive producer. She serves as the TV show's colour analyst as well. She has talked about taking things one step at a time, but she hasn't totally ruled out going back into the ring. Deadline claims that AJ Lee has been cast in a significant project outside of WWE. She will reportedly make an appearance in Sacramento, which will begin shooting this spring. Alongside Michael Cera and Michael Angarano, she will make an appearance.

The last time AJ Lee competed was in March 2015 on Monday Night RAW when she defeated Natalya and The Bella Twins with the help of Trinity Fatu (a.k.a. Naomi) and Saraya (a.k.a. Paige). The former Divas Champion discussed maybe returning to in-ring combat in an interview with Renee Paquette on The Sessions in June 2022.

“I always say, 'never say never, but don't hold your breath,' and everyone holds on to the 'never say never.' Don't hold your breath, you're going to die. <...> There was a lot of 'Let's go!' To me, that didn't spark anything in me, but the combination of wrestling and writing, wrestling and producing, that was more comfortable and more exciting because it was a challenge. I always felt great about the timing of when I retired. You never want to be the last girl at the party, you want to go out on top. Everything felt so perfect and tied up in a bow," she said.
