The second season of the Women’s Premier League is set to begin at the start of 2024. Ahead of the new season, the players released will be going under the hammer during the WPL 2024 auctions.

In what is massive news for the fans of the Women’s Premier League 2024 season, the venue and the date for the WPL 2024 Auctions have been announced. Apart from this, each of the five teams has also been told how much money is left in their purse. 

Mumbai Indians are the defending champions after winning the inaugural season. Delhi Capitals were the finalists as Harmanpreet Kaur and her side, MI completed an easy win. The five teams have already submitted their list for the retentions and releases of players.

The second auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been announced. Mumbai is set to host the Auctions on the 9th of December as the five teams will choose their favorite stars for the upcoming season.

The purse for each team has already been set at INR 13 Crores. Each of the teams now knows how much they have left in their kitty. Mumbai Indians the defending champions have the lowest amount remaining

Gujarat Giants had released most of their squad ahead of the release and the retention list was to be submitted. The team has the most money left with INR 5.95 Crores in their kitty.

UP Warriorz which has names like Alyssa Healy has INR 4 Crores left as balance. After a dismal season, the Uttar Pradesh franchise will want to invest heavily and win the title this season.

Smriti Mandhana led Royal Challengers Bangalore and has INR 3.35 Crores left. The Bangalore-based unit finished bottom of the table last year. Despite possessing a host of stars RCB did not fare well but this year things may be different. 

Delhi Capitals who finished as runners-up has a total of INR 2.25 Crores left in the tank. Defending champions Mumbai Indians meanwhile just have INR 2.1 Crores left as they have retained the core of their squad.
