India and Bangladesh are facing off in the opening One-Day International of their three-game series in Bangladesh. After winning the toss, Litton Das, the captain of Bangladesh, decided to bowl first. The Indian team got off to a flying start when openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan strode out to the middle. The pair could only last so long before Dhawan was bowled by Mehidy Hasan and Rohit was dismissed by Shakib Al Hasan.
Fans had high hopes for the star batters Virat Kohli and Rohit, but veteran all-rounder Shakib dashed them by taking both batters' prized scalps in his very first over. In the eleventh over of the innings, Shakib entered the fray and bowled the Indian captain right through his defence on the second ball of the over to clean him up.
Virat Kohli's priceless scalp was taken by Shakib on the fourth ball of the same over after he mistimed a cover drive to Litton Das at short cover. The ball stuck in Das' right hand as he dove to his full length to complete a sensational catch. Kohli stood there in awe of the outstanding fielding effort.
The wider line appeared to surprise Virat, as he drove quickly while using just one hand. He was misled by the flight, lost control of the shot, and the all-rounder got an excellent wicket in exchange.

Virat Kohli's batting performance in ODIs in 2022 has been forgettable. He has only managed to score 184 runs in nine innings at an average of 20.44 and a strike rate of 73.60, while also recording two half-centuries. In August 2019 against the West Indies, Kohli last reached the century mark in an ODI.
However, the former Indian team skipper had a delightful season in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He ended up as the highest run-scorer of the tournament in Australia. The fans expected him to do well in the ODIs against Bangladesh as well.
