The veteran Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic locked horns with R. Carballes Baena in his match of the first round at the Rod Laver Arena. The former dominated most part of the match and finished the match on a winning note with a thumping margin of 6-3, 6-4, and 6-0.

Apart from his brilliance in the match, Djokovic made it to the headlines of social media for his response to a fan during the live match. A fan happened to shut up a fellow spectator at the moment when the Serbian superstar was taking his serve.

Subsequently, the 21-time grand slam winner Djokovic happened to say β€˜thank you’ to the fan. The video of this incident went immediately viral on social media within minutes of being shared by a user on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Speaking of the entire action of the match, the veteran right-handed backhand dominated Spanish star Baena almost in all sections of the match. Djokovic had earned 9 aces in comparison to 4 of Baena. Whereas, the former had 70% of first serves to his name which was 14% more than that of Roberto.

The Wimbledon champion also dominated his opponent in terms of wins in the receiving points as he earned 38 points, 23 more than the points secured by the 29-year-old Spanish two-handed backhand.

Now, Djokovic will take on Bulgaria’s one-handed backhand Grigor Dimitrov in his match in the third round on Sunday, the 21st of January at the Rod Laver Arena.
