Amidst the intense cricket session, a lighthearted moment unfolded when renowned Indian batter Virat Kohli distinctively greeted spinner Keshav Maharaj. It's worth mentioning that Maharaj came in to bat after the dismissal of the sixth wicket, as Marco Jansen headed back to the pavilion with South Africa's score at a mere 34 runs.

Upon entering the field, adhering to tradition, the religious song 'Ram Siya Ram' resonated, and Kohli, stationed in the slips, performed the iconic Lord Rama 'bow and arrow' pose. With a smile, the star batter replicated the pose and reverently bowed down, clasping his hands in homage to the almighty.

Mohammed Siraj registered his best Test bowling figure

Talking about the game, the South African opening pair of Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar cautiously initiated their innings, accumulating five runs in the initial three overs. Siraj delivered the initial setback to South Africa when he induced an edge from Markram, sending the ball straight into the hands of Yashasvi Jaiswal at third slip.

The right-arm seamer continued his impressive performance by claiming a significant wicket, as Dean Elgar chopped one back onto his stumps in the subsequent over. Simultaneously, at the opposite end, Jasprit Bumrah joined in, dismissing debutant Tristan Stubbs, who was caught at short leg. Meanwhile, Siraj remained unstoppable, picking up wickets at the other end, including Tony de Zorzi (2), David Bedingham (12), Kyle Verreynne (15), and Marco Jansen (0). This remarkable performance allowed him to achieve his best bowling figures in the format, finishing with 6/15. He was also very well supported by Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar who also picked up two wickets each.
