On Wednesday, Indian middle-order batter KL Rahul shared his thoughts on the external commentary and social media scrutiny that followed his century comeback against South Africa in Centurion. Rahul received praise for his performance in challenging batting conditions during the first innings, achieving his eighth Test century with a score of 101 runs in 137 balls, featuring 14 fours and four sixes, contributing to a team total of just 245.

In his remarks after the conclusion of the play on day two, Rahul addressed his opinions related to the criticism of his recent forms, particularly from the general public. In recent times, there has been a lot of criticism about his form and he even has been targeted personally by former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad as well.

"As a person, as a cricketer, as an individual, you are challenged each day, each moment. Social media is a pressure. Today I have scored a hundred so people are singing praises. Three, or four months ago, everybody was abusing me. It is part of the game, but I cannot say it does not affect you. It does. The sooner you realize that staying away from it is good for your game and your mindset the better it is," KL Rahul said.
