Durban Super Giants won their second game in a row on Saturday night as they beat defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Despite Tristan Stubbs waging a lone battle the Sunrisers failed to prove credible opposition to Durban Super Giants.

Batting first, Durban posted a massive 225 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets.  JJ Smuts and Nicolas Pooran were the main destroyers with the bat against a tired-looking bowling unit.

In reply, Sunrisers batters were up against it right from the first ball of the game. Chasing 226 on this wicket in Gqeberha was never going to be easy. Durban stuck to their task and took home all four points.

Quinton De Kock and Matthew Breetzke set Gqeberha on fire with their amazing first-wicket stand. This was one of the most brutal assaults seen on the bowlers during the SA20 league this year.

Daniel Worrall broke the first wicket stand of 58 when he had De Kock out for 29. Breetzke was the next man to go for 43 when he was caught by Worrall of Marco Jansen for 43. JJ Smuts and Nicolas Pooran then came together to pulverize the opposition bowlers.

The pair added 100 runs for the third wicket in just fifty balls as the two unleashed carnage. Worrall and Jansen combined again to remove Smuts for 75 as Pooran continued on his merry way to score 60 not out. Adam Rossington and Jordan Hermann were out early but Tom Abell and Aiden Markram fought back well. The pair added 93 runs for the third wicket in just 51 balls before the skipper was out for 29.

Tristan Stubbs then swung his bat around to score an enterprising fifty to keep his team in the hunt. JJ Smuts, Richard Gleeson, and Dwaine Pretorius picked two wickets each to help their side to an easy win.
