The Indian Air Force pilots put on a show at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad before the start of the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. A packed house in the western part of the country witnessed the fantastic performance of the Suryakiran Aerobatic team. The show lit up the stadium, and the fans were impressed by the performance of the pilots. The sound of the jets set the mood in the stadium.
Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first in Ahmedabad. In between the start of the match and the period after the toss, there was an air show for the spectators. A big preparation went before the start of the match. Days before the performance, there were rehearsals done by the team to perform on the big stage. The show had good coordination from the pilots.
The noise made by the jets was so good and set the tone for the match. What followed was the domination from the Australian players. The visiting side was so good on the field and with the ball. There were no easy runs on offer for India. The Australian side came up with a plan and executed it brilliantly. The pacers took the pace off and caused trouble among the batters.
Dew to determine the result?
After winning the toss, the Australian captain Pat Cummins was quick to decide to bowl first. The decision of Cummins was questioned by many, as the surface was dry. One wondered why Cummins opted to bowl, as the pitch was further going to slow down. But Australia showed why they opted to bowl first, as they restricted India to a total of just 23 runs.
It was not a par score on the wicket which has something in it for both the pacers and spinners. The key for the second innings would be dew. If dew sets in the match, the chasing side would fancy themselves to score the target set by India. Bowlers would be the key to the success of India in the match.
