There is no doubt that former Indian skipper and batting legend Virat Kohli has a lot of fans. The 34-year-old’s craze is seen not only in India but also across the world. In Pakistan, there is a large section of the crowd that cheers for Virat Kohli as loudly as they do for their players.
During India’s last game of the ODI World Cup 2023 versus New Zealand, Virat Kohli was out for 95. This was five runs short of what would have been his 49th ODI century putting him on par with Sachin Tendulkar. That knock helped India win their 5th game of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament.
The Indian cricket is set to take on England on Sunday in their 6th game of the tournament. Rohit Sharma and his men are so far unbeaten as they prepare to face off against the defending champions England in Lucknow.
Pakistani fans in shock after Virat Kohli’s dismissal
Virat Kohli was batting on 95 off 103 balls when Matt Henry bowled a short ball to the former India skipper. India just needed 5 runs with more than three overs left to play. The 34-year-old obliged as he went for a pull and was caught by Glenn Phillips.
This sent the entire Dharamshala crowd into shock as Kohli walked back to the hut. Across the border, there were a few Virat Kohli fans who were also waiting for his century with bated breath. In a 48-second video that is doing the rounds on Twitter, the fans can be seen in utter shock and disbelief.

Thanks to his run-scoring form Virat Kohli is now ranked number five in the latest batting charts. India’s number three batter has scored 354 runs during the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament. Virat hit his third ODI World Cup ton versus Bangladesh scoring 103 not out in Pune.
Hardik Pandya is set to miss India’s next two games as per the reports doing the rounds in the media. This would mean that the Indian all-rounder will not play against England on the 29th of October and Sri Lanka on the 2nd of November. The India- Sri Lanka match is set to take place in Mumbai. There is wide speculation that Ravichandran Ashwin might play on Sunday versus the defending champions.
