It was an amazing day for the huge crowd in New Delhi who had come to see the Australia versus Netherlands match. David Warner who plays for Delhi Capitals in the IPL regaled his home crowd with a classic innings to get his 2nd consecutive century of the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign.
The Australian opener had smashed Pakistan for 163 runs off 124 balls in the previous game. On Wednesday the 36-year-old showed his good form with the bat yet again against the hapless Dutch bowlers.
Scott Edwards saw his Australian counterpart win the toss and choose to bat first. Cameron Green came in for his second game of the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign to replace injured Marcus Stoinis.
David Warner’s run-scoring spree doesn’t stop –
Australian opener David Warner was on 99 when he got a short ball that he went on to pull. The Dutch fielders had no chance as they saw the ball trickle over the fence for a boundary. This gave David Warner his second century of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament and his 22nd ODI ton for Australia.
He did it again #Pushpa the fire🔥🔥

It was a pleasing moment for the 36-year-old who was not long ago struggling to score runs with consistency. Just like the game against Pakistan sloppy fielding gave David Warner a second chance.
Usama Mir had dropped him when he was on 10 off Shaheen Afridi. On Wednesday the Dutch failed to run out Warner after his miscommunication with Steve Smith. Once he got his slice of luck the veteran batter wasn’t going to let his chance go.
During the game against Pakistan, David Warner had smacked an enormous 163-run knock. His knock and one massive first-wicket stand with Mitchell Marsh had helped Australia score 367/9.
Pat Cummins led Australia began with losses to India and South Africa. The five-time World Cup winners then came storming back to beat Sri Lanka by five wickets. This was followed by the 62-run win over Pakistan which propelled Australia to number 4 in the table.
With Pakistan losing three games in a row the Aussies will get a firm grip on the 4th place with a win on Wednesday. Australia will next play against New Zealand on Saturday in Dharamshala
