David Warner is one of the most admired cricketers around the world, especially in India. The Australian opener's love for India and the Indian movies is no secret and he never fails to entertain his fans both on and off the field. After opting to bat first, Lankan openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera got them off to a flying start. However, after picking up some quick wickets, the five-time champions took control of the game. As the game entered the 32nd over, an unexpected guest arrived at the Ekana Cricket Stadium and stopped the game for a while.

The rain came out of nowhere and the players cleared the ground immediately. Meanwhile, Warner was seen helping the ground staff to cover the pitch. Many pictures and videos of the Aussie star pulling the covers with a big smile on his face went viral on social media. Fortunately, it was a mild drizzle and the game resumed without much delay.

Warner takes a flying catch to dismiss Nissanka on 61

Nissanka and Perera stitiched together a 125-run partnership before Pat Cummins broke the dangerous partnership. A short delivery from Cummins, Nissanka hit it high and Warner raced across to his left, slid in and completed a beautiful catch. It was a much-needed breakthrough for Australia and the right-hander had to depart in the 22nd over after a well-crafted 61 off 67 balls.

The Aussie skipper got one more wicket and brought Australia back into the game. Another Sri Lankan opener was sent back to the pavilion, triggering a massive collapse. Sri Lanka kept on losing wickets in regular intervals, and as a result, they were bundled out for 209 runs in 43.3 overs.
