Cricket is considered a religion in India and during this World Cup time, the craze for this beautiful sport is massive. This madness can also be transformed to non-Indian fans, an example of which was witnessed in the match between Australia and Sri Lanka. During the 14th match of the 2023 ODI World Cup at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, an Australian fan was seen chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' in a celebratory mood.

Australia registered a crucial five-wicket victory on Monday - a comeback for Pat Cummins and Co. after two successive defeats. Arrived as one of the prime contenders to win the title, the five-time champions did not have the desired start, losing to India and South Africa in an embarrassing way. However, they bounced back against Sri Lanka before things slipped out of their control.

Meanwhile, in a viral video, two Australian fans can be seen celebrating their home team's impressive performance along with a few Indian fans in the stands. One among them joined Indian fans in chanting 'Ganpati Bappa Morya' - a phrase used to express the love and devotion to Lord Ganesha from their devotees. A video showing how Australians are enjoying the game with their Indian friends has quickly gone viral on social media.

Australia finally broke their losing streak and announced its arrival in the 2023 World Cup. Electing to bat first, Sri Lanka were in a strong position until rival captain Cummins broke a dangerous opening stand of 125. Australia were outplayed till then, but soon Sri Lanka fell like a pack of cards to see themselves bundled out for 209 in 43.3 overs.

It was not a threatening target for the Australians, but Dilshan Madushanka removed David Warner and Steve Smith in the same over to keep Sri Lanka in the hunt. However, half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis set the tone for Australia to claim a comfortable win over The Lions in the 36th over.
