Virat Kohli has been the backbone of the Indian cricket team for over a decade. Barring a rough patch of about three years, the 35-year-old has been a consistent performer for Team India. Currently the highest run-scorer in the ODI World Cup with nearly 600 runs, Kohli proved to be at his best. However, apart from his batting and fielding, the former India captain aims to contribute his bowling skills as well.
Kohli was seen practising his bowling during India's training sessions for the World Cup matches. He finally got the chance to roll his arms in India's final league match against the Netherlands on Sunday, November 12. The 'right-arm quick bowler’ conceded just two runs off his first five balls but the last ball went for a boundary. However, in his very next over, Kohli got the wicket of Dutch captain Scott Edwards.
The ace cricketer got his fifth international wicket at his second home after nine years. The Chinnaswamy crowd went berserk as they could not contain their joy. Kohli was seen celebrating with his teammates with a wide smile on his face. However, it was Kohli's biggest supporter and cheerleader, Anushka Sharma, who took centre stage at the celebration.
The cameraman was alert to capture the reaction of Kohli's wife at the stands. In a video that has gone viral on social media, Anushka Sharma is seen bursting with joy and fans love her priceless reaction.

Rohit Sharma wraps up the Dutch innings by removing Nidamanuru
It was not a wicket-taking delivery as the ball was going for a wide. Edwards was in no mood to let the ball go and he took a slight edge. It directly went into the hands of KL Rahul who took a brilliant catch behind the stumps. In his 3 overs, the Kohli conceded just 13 runs. The last time Kohli took an international wicket was against West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup.
Apart from Kohli, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav also bowled a couple of overs in the middle phase. Gill and Surya bowled two overs each, conceding 11 and 17 respectively, but failed to pick up any wickets.
Defending a mammoth target of 411, India were well ahead of the game and captain Rohit Sharma decided to give a few overs to his 'part-time all-rounders'. Later in the innings, the captain himself took the ball and picked up the wicket of Teja Nidamanuru in his very first over. That wrapped up Netherlands' innings for 250 runs in 47.5 overs and the Men in Blue claimed a huge win of 160 runs.
