In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, the Indian Cricket Team is on a roll. The team has registered seven wins in as many games in the ongoing tournament and is yet to be defeated. On Thursday, India faced 1996 champions Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium, only to humiliate them by 302 runs.
India thrashed Sri Lanka by 302 runs after Indian bowlers launched absolute cranage in the Sri Lankan batting line-up. However, the Wankhede crowd was not happy with the local boy and India skipper Rohit Sharma, as they were wishing to see the star India batter bowl against Sri Lanka. While Indian pacers were on roll, a crowd was seen chanting "Virat Kohli ko bowling do" constantly.

After consistently hearing this, Kohli started warming up while feiling at slip. He also asked skipper Rohit to give him bowling. Kohli also started mimicking his bowling practice to please the fans. However, India skipper Rohit Sharma didn't entertain anyone's request, and Kohli's bowling remained limited to Nets sessions.
Mohammad Shami clinches another five-wicket haul
While chasing a massive total of 357/8, Sri Lanka had a poor start. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj clinched four wickets within the first four overs and dismantled the Sri Lankan batting line-up. Bumrah dismissed opener Pathum Nissanka for a golden duck, while Siraj dismissed Sadeera Samrawickrama, Kusal Mendis, and Dimuth Karunaratne for 0, 1, and 0 runs.
However, the star of the night was pacer Mohammed Shami. The man came on as the first change in the tenth over of the game and dismantled the Sri Lankan batting line-up. He clinched five wickets in no time and bundled up Sri Lanka for a mere 55 runs. Shami, in his fiery spell, dismissed the likes of Charith Aslanka, Angelo Mathews, Dusan Hemantha, and others. With this victory, India became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.
