The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host Match 20 of the 2023 ODI World Cup between England and South Africa on Saturday, October 21. Both are coming off the back of embarrassing defeats in their last matches, so a win is crucial to get back on the winning track. While Afghanistan stunned the defending champions with a 69-run win in Delhi, the Netherlands dominated the Proteas by 38 runs in Dharamsala.

South Africa started their World Cup campaign on a high note, thrashing Sri Lanka in a record-breaking thriller. It got better in the next game when they beat five-time champions Australia by a massive 134 runs. However, an unexpected setback at the hands of the underdogs Netherlands could certainly dent their confidence.

Meanwhile, Aiden Markram will captain their crucial match against England as Temba Bavuma is ill. Looking at Bavuma's performance with the bat, this is a blessing in disguise for South Africa. The right-hander has failed miserably in the three matches played so far by scores of 8, 35 and 16. Reeza Hendricks will replace Bavuma in the top order.

Speaking at the toss, skipper Markram said: "Bavuma is ill, so Reeza comes in. Nice opportunity for him. Might be a little bit in it (pitch) during the powerplay. Sort of motivates you a bit. Not focussing too much on it. It's about reaching those standards set by us. Reeza has been knocking on the door for a while, he comes in. It's a fantastic opportunity for him."
