Madame Tussauds Singapore, a wax museum and tourist attraction, has announced its latest addition to the fold, none other than ace Indian cricketer Virat Kohli. The 7th Asian branch of the Madame Tussauds has unveiled a wax figure of the former Indian captain amid the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Located at the Imbiah Lookout of Sentosa Island, this museum is one of Singapore's prominent tourist attractions. Kohli's wax figure was seen in Team India's official cricket kit, which is reportedly donated by the cricketer himself. Notably, the statue has been installed in the sports zone where legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Yao Ming, and Sachin Tendulkar's statues were also seen.
Considered one of the finest batters of the modern era, Kohli has a huge fan following across the globe. Over the years, the 34-year-old has been amassing the crowd with his scintillating on-field performances. Speaking at the occasion, Madame Tussauds Singapore General Manager Steven Chung said that they are proud to add Kohli's wax figure.
"We are proud to add Virat Kohli's figure to our line-up of sporting icons. His unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with his charismatic personality has earned him a special place in the hearts of millions. Kohli fans around the world can now come to Madame Tussauds Singapore to connect with their hero on a whole new level and feel his aura!" Chung was quoted as saying by Asia One.
I am grateful to my fans for their love and support: Kohli
Kohli expressed his gratitude to Madame Tussauds Singapore for choosing him for the "lifetime experience". The backbone of the Indian batting unit is currently playing in the ongoing World Cup in India. The Men in Blue are currently the table toppers with three wins from three games. Kohli has been pivotal in the campaign so far, scoring two fifties in the first two matches.
"I sincerely appreciate the efforts and incredible work undergone in making my figure. Thanks to Madame Tussauds for choosing me for this lifetime experience. I am grateful to my fans for their love and support," the right-handed batter said.
