In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 game between India and Bangladesh, the visitors, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first. In the first few overs, the Men In Blue, although didn't take wickets kept the scoreboard in check. They might have had a result if the home side had taken an LBW review against Tanzid Hasan.

On the first ball of the fifth over, the left-hander's head fell over to the off-stump and was hit on the pad. However, the umpire thought that the ball had pitched outside the leg-stump. The fielding team also felt the same and didn't feel like taking a risk in the form of a review so early in the game. However, the hawk-eye said that the ball was pitched in line.

Apart from that, the White Kookaburra had missed the bat as well. After watching the replay, the India skipper Rohit Sharma had a sheepish smile.

After the umpire reprieve, the Tigers openers, Hasan and Litton Das put together 93 runs for the first wicket. This was their best opening partnership in the history of the tournament. Their previous best was 69 by Mehrab Hossain and Shahriar Hossain against Pakistan in the 1999 edition. Notably, being the World Cup debutants at that point, the Tigers won the game.

Meanwhile, in this game, the two-time winners have managed to make a comeback. After Das (66) and Hasan (51), the other batters have failed to apply themselves. At the time of writing, the Green Brigade amassed 149/4, having lost their fourth wicket at 137 runs. Ravindra Jadeja has taken two wickets while Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav have taken one apiece.
