India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja bowled a dream spell against Bangladesh in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 match. On a pitch that didn't have much for bowlers, the Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a good start, albeit the home side not taking an LBW review against Tanzim Hasan. Meanwhile, the openers, Hasan and Litton Das put together 93 runs for the first wicket.
The former was trapped lbw by Kuldeep Yadav. After a short while, Jadeja came to bowl with only one wicket down and removed stand-in skipper Nazmul Hasan Shanto soon after. During his spell, he gave away only 38 runs and took the second wicket in the form of Das. His bowling played a role in the Men In Blue restricting Tigers to 256/8. Meanwhile, renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle praised Jadeja's bowling on Twitter.
Jadeja has risen to the occasion magnificently. To bowl 2-38 on that track is outstanding.

There was no turn from the wicket: Ravindra Jadeja
After the first innings, the 2013 Champions Trophy winner spoke to the broadcaster. He said that the wicket is good and there is no grip on the surface.
"(On the score) The wicket looks very good. There was no turn on the wicket. If we play simple and normal cricket, we should do it (chase the total). (On the catch celebration) That celebration was for our fielding coach. After every game, we get the best fielder award so I was telling him I am also here (for the award). (Bowling plans) You have to bowl at the stumps. You cannot bowl here and there. Bowl tight lines and according to the field," Jadeja said in the mid-game show.
India has had a great start with their openers, skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill putting together 63 runs and counting in 10 overs.
This is how Twitter reacted

And that catch to follow it up. One of the best all round cricketers in the white ball format (or limited overs like the Kutti stories bit was ha ha).. would you say in terms of his fielding coupled with bowling and batting, our best white ball all rounder since Kapil Dev?

5/23 - Jasprit Bumrah

He is a gem. Needs to scale up on batting though

Indians spinners are so good in the middle overs that they have 4th time delivered for their team , they not only breaks the partnerships but also open the gateway for the likes of Bumrah and Siraj to force collapse ,really impressive.#INDvsBAN
