With two of the powerful units in the 2023 ODI World Cup facing off, cricket fans are expecting a thrilling contest. While South Africa's strength is a devastating batting unit, India's strength lies in their bowling attack and their batters are also in top form.

India, the only unbeaten team in the tournament so far, secured their place in the semi-finals with 14 points from 7 matches. On the other hand, South Africa became the second team to qualify in the last four after Pakistan defeated New Zealand at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday. However, they will be aiming to register yet another dominant win. 

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Eden Gardens assists both batters and bowlers. Batters may enjoy the initial sessions, but as the game progresses, spinners get more help from the surface. Typically, the average first innings score here is around 236 runs. Only two matches have been played here in the tournament so far, with first innings scores of 229 and 204. But those scores were from the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
