Is there anything this man can't do? Indian cricket fans might have asked themselves this question during their home team's final league match in the 2023 ODI World Cup against the Netherlands. 'Right-arm quick bowler’ Virat Kohli picked up his fifth international wicket, proving that he is having a stellar tournament, not just with the bat.

Having already qualified for the semi-finals, captain Rohit Sharma decided to give his 'part-time all-rounders' a try against the Dutch side at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, November 12. The Indian skipper started experimenting with Kohli in the 22nd over. The former Indian captain conceded just two runs off his first five balls but the last ball went for a boundary.

Kohli continued the spell with Ravindra Jadeja and in his next over, he got the wicket of Dutch captain Scott Edwards. The ball was going for a wide but Edwards' bat took an edge and went into the hands of KL Rahul who took a brilliant catch behind the stumps. It was not a wicket-taking delivery, but the man with the golden arms can do no wrong.

Kohli got his maiden ODI World Cup wicket and the crowd at Chinnaswammy went berserk. The last time Kohli took an international wicket was against West Indies in the 2016 T20 World Cup. In his 3 overs, the 35-year-old conceded just 13 runs. Kohli could be seen practising his bowling during India's training sessions.

Having set a mammoth total of 410 in the first innings, Rohit decided to give his main bowlers some rest. After Kohli, Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav also rolled their arms. Gill and Surya bowled two overs each, conceding 11 and 17 respectively, but failed to pick up any wickets.

The skipper himself took the ball and in the first over, he got the wicket of Teja Nidamanuru, who fell after scoring a valiant fifty. That wrapped up Netherlands' innings for 250 runs in 47.5 overs and India claimed a massive win of 160 runs.
