The Mens ODI World Cup, over the years, has produced several enthralling moments since its inception in 1975. There were instances where the batters dominated the game with some powerful attacks, putting huge scores on the board. The reverse has also happened where teams have been bowled out by double figures as a result of the bowlers' onslaught.

The lowest run total is one of the most humiliating records that a team can hold. On that note, let's take a look at the lowest 4 team totals in ODI World Cup history.

1. 36 by Canada vs Sri Lanka in 2003

Canada tops this embarrassing list with a score of 36 against Sri Lanka in the 2003 World Cup. Prabath Nissanka's four-wicket haul and Chaminda Vaas's 3-fer did not allow any of the Candian players to touch the 10-run mark. Sri Lanka, in reply, chased down the mere target within 4.4 overs for the loss of just one wicket.

2. 45 by Canada vs England in 1979

The second place also belongs to Canada after their humiliating 45 all-out against England in the 1979 World Cup. The pace attack of Bob Willis and Chris Old tore apart the Canadian batting lineup with a collective eight wickets. Franklyn Dennis was the top scorer with 21 runs off 99 balls. England lost two wickets in the process but chased down the target in 14 overs.

3. 45 by Namibia vs Australia in 2003

4. 55 by Sri Lanka vs India in 2023

Sri Lanka are the latest entry in this unwanted list of records, as India bowled them out for just 55 runs. Chasing a mammoth target of 358 runs, the 1996 champions were all out in just 19.4 overs as the Indian pacer wreaked havoc at Wankhede Stadium. Mohammed Shami registered his second fifer of the tournament. Mohammed Siraj grabbed three wickets and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket.
