Things are not going well for Pakistan cricket board at the moment. As the World Cup campaign of Pakistan was on, the news about Inzamam-ul-Haq resigning from the selection commitee broke out. Inzamam was elected as the chairman of Pakistan cricket just before the start of the big tournaments like the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023. The short tenure of Inzamam turned out to be controversial.
During the World Cup, it was found out that Inzamam had his stake on a company, which was directly related to one of the members in the Pakistan cricket board. Hence, Inzamam had to resign from his post due to 'Conflict of interest'. The tenure of Inzamam was already controversial. Many had accused the former Pakistan cricketer to have biased decisions in the selection of some of the players in the World Cup squad.
The move came as Pakistan had suffered four losses in a row in the ODI World Cup 2023 against India, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa respectively. Pakistan went on to get eleiminated from the group stage of the tournament by England in their last match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After the match, Morne Morkel, the bowling coach of Pakistan, resigned from his post.
Pakistan's selection committee gets sacked
Even before the World Cup could end officially, the entire selection committee of Pakistan was sacked by the board. It has raised a lot of questions about Pakistan cricket. The future of Pakistan cricket seems uncertain at the moment. The reports suggest of a change in captaincy in Pakistan in different formats. As per these reports, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan are likely to take over Pakistan cricket in the upcoming days.
Pakistan has a lot of issues to solve currently. The new selection committee will be looked upon by the fans, as they would not be wishing to see any more biased picks. Ahead of some of the big tournaments in the upcoming months like 2024 T20 World Cup, Asia Cup, and Champions Trophy, fans like to see a settled personnel at the top.

Old mistakes haunt Pakistan and Babar in mediocre World Cup campaign. Add to that board dysfunction, a key injury and a few out-of-form players, and that would sum up why Pakistan struggled at the tournament#PakistanCricket
