The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad saw a packed house to watch India take on Pakistan on Saturday. Over 100,000 people had come together to watch the biggest clash of the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament.
This was the first time that Pakistan was playing an ODI match in India since early 2013. It was also the first time that Pakistan had played a game in India since 2016. The last time Pakistan played in India was during the T20 World Cup in 2016.
Pakistan team which was dominating at point collapsed spectacularly to be bowled out for 191. The Indian team raced home to an easy win by seven wickets in just 30.3 overs. India are now placed at number 1 in the points table. Pakistan has dropped down to number 4 after the heavy loss.
Indian Fans in the crowd come up with frenzied chants –
While the India and Pakistan teams were involved in a huge battle on the field, the Indian fans were lending their huge support. With no Pakistani fans in attendance, it was a cauldron-like setting for the visitors.
During the entire course of the game, the Indian fans came up with many innovative chants. This had an effect on Pakistan as they were thrown off their rails during the course of the game. One such chant was heard during the Indian batting and the nine-second video is going viral.

Babar Azam with 56 and Mohammad Rizwan with 49 were the main two scorers for Pakistan. Abdullah Shafique and Imam Ul Haq had also contributed well with the bat in the early part of the innings.
The Pakistan skipper had come into the game versus India with just 15 runs from his first two games. On Saturday the 29-year-old found his groove to score yet another fifty in ODI Cricket.
Barring Shardul Thakur every other Indian bowler picked two wickets each. At one stage Pakistan were placed at a healthy-looking score of 155 for the loss of two wickets. Once Babar Azam fell the Pakistani innings crumbled and they were bowled out for 191 in the 43rd over.
Despite losing Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli for 16 each, Rohit Sharma found a good ally in Shreyas Iyer. The Indian skipper hit six fours and an equal number of sixes in his knock of 86 runs from 63 balls. Shreyas Iyer also got to his half-century as India won the game by 7 wickets.
