The breathtaking action continued in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 as the crowd was treated to two action-packed encounters on Wednesday. The day's first match was between Gujarat Giants and UP Yoddhas at Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru. Before the start of the game, Gujarat Giants were placed in the fifth position in the points table while UP Yoddhas were placed in the sixth position in the table.
The game began with both teams raring to go at each other. Gujarat got an early lead in the game. Pardeep Narwal for UP Yoddhas went in for the raid first up and was pushed out of the mat in the early moments of the contest. For Gujarat, Arkam Shaikh started the proceedings and was also out of the mat as the game began with an even start.
There was a neck-to-neck battle between both Gujarat Giants and UP Yoddhas as Chandran Ranjit earned a bonus point for the Giants. After the first half, UP Yoddhas took a narrow lead of 21-19 over Gujarat Giants.
In the second half, a spectacular jump from Rakesh saw the Giants level the scores 21-21. And moments later, there was even more action as Gujarat Giants inflicted the first ALL OUT of the contest, on UP Yoddhas.
Gujarat further inflicted another ALL OUT on UP Yoddhas 39-33 with less than 10 minutes to play. It was all too much left to be done for UP as they were Undone by Gujarat who won the game with a scoreline of 51-45.
Bengaluru Bulls Stun Tamil Thalaivas in the second match of the day
The second match of the day was between Bengaluru and Tamil Thalaivas who were placed at 8th and 9th position in the points table.
Within the first few minutes, Bengaluru Bulls took a 15-8 lead over Tamil Thalaivas. The Bulls took command of the match as Bharat won them five raid points in the early stages. On the other hand, Thalaivas were seen struggling to take points in a bunch with the scoreline 17-12 in favor of the Bulls.
By half-time, Bengaluru Bulls were leading by 6 with the scoreline of 18-12 courtesy of their domination throughout the game. Thalaivas also showed some fightback by picking points to reduce the gap.
In the second half, Bengaluru continued with their dominance as Bharat continued to pick points from his raid. After that, Ashish momentarily cut down the gap for Thalaivas with a super tackle as the reeling side picked three points on the trot with the help of bonus points.
Thalaivas continued their comeback with Himanshu Singh stunning the home crowd by taking out Bharat while Visvanath did the same to Neeraj Narwal to keep the contest open.
However, the Bulls once again showed their dominance increasing the gap by scoring points on the trot. Thalaivas had no answer to the Bulls' continuous attack as they faltered under immense pressure. With the final whistle going off, the Bulls registered an emphatic win with a scoreline of 45-28. With this win, Bengaluru climbed to the third position in the table.
