The Lucknow Super Giants are no longer associated with Gautam Gambhir. The franchise's mentor announced this featured news on social media. For the 2024 Indian Premier League season, he will be joining the Kolkata Knight Riders.
In the meantime, Gambhir participated in every significant choice that the Lucknow-based team made. He took part in the IPL auctions with enthusiasm. When KL Rahul was in charge, LSG had previously reached the playoffs in the two seasons played by the team.
He wrote as he announced his departure from Lucknow Super Giants as he said, “As I announce the end of my impeccable journey with Lukcnow Super Giants, I am filled with love and immense gratitude towards all the players, coaches, support staff, and every individual who has made this journey memorable. I would like to thank Dr. Sanjiv Goenka for his inspiring leadership while creating this remarkable franchise and for his tremendous support to all my endeavors. I am sure the team will do wonders in the future and make LSG fans proud. All the very best LSG brigade.”
The history of KKR is marked by Gambhir's tenure from 2011 to 2017, which was marked by two IPL wins and five playoff berths. The seasoned cricket player will work with head coach Chandrakant Pandit of KKR with the goal of helping the franchise win this coming season.
