IPL 2024: Sam Curran and three more big names on their way out of Punjab Kings

English all-rounder Sam Curran will be on his way out of Punjab Kings along with three other big names ahead of the IPL 2024 Auctions set to be held in Dubai on December 19.

The IPL 2024 auctions have created a huge buzz with all ten teams looking to invest in their favourite players. Punjab Kings are rumoured to release Sam Curran who fetched the maximum price during the IPL Auction 2023 held late last year.

Ben Stokes has already pulled out of the upcoming IPL 2024 season and has made his intentions clear to CSK. The English test skipper is set to take part in the 5-match test series versus India early next year.

Mumbai Indians meanwhile are also rumoured to bring back Hardik Pandya to their team. As per reports, the five-time IPL winners are trying to trade Jofra Archer to Gujarat Titans in a bid to re-acquire the services of the 30-year-old Indian all-rounder.

According to rumours, Sam Curran is set to be released by the Punjab Kings ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. The 25-year-old was brought for a whopping price of INR 18.25 Crores during the IPL 2023 auctions. 

This was the highest paid for any player in the history of the league. Sam Curran played 14 Games last year and scored 276 runs with a best of 55 versus Mumbai Indians. With the ball, Sam Curran could only pick 10 wickets with an economy rate of 10.22 runs per over.

Apart from Sam Curran. Punjab Kings are also set to release Sri Lankan batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Australian all-rounder Matthew Short. Indian leg-spinner Rahul Chahar is also on the likely list of potential releases. The 24-year-old did not have a great season with the ball for the Mohali-based team.

Delhi Capitals have already announced the release of Manish Pandey and Sarfaraz Khan. It is believed that the Delhi-based franchise will want to cut more players from the team. Anrich Nortje the South African pacer is also on the way out of the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Lockie Ferguson, Tim Southee, and Shardul Thakur are on the way out of the Eden Gardens Stadium. Kolkata Knight Riders have already brought back Gautam Gambhir who is back with the two-time champions as their mentor.
