Speculation hints at a potential clash between the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, the finalists of the preceding season, setting the stage for a thrilling start to the tournament. CSK, being the defending champions, has been bestowed with the honour of hosting the inaugural event.
Although the tradition of featuring finalists from the previous season in the opening match has been a staple, However, Dhumal refrained from confirming whether this would be the case for the March 22 contest.
