Following the release of retained and released player lists by all ten IPL franchises on the retention deadline day, the recent developments add an element of unpredictability to team strategies. Given that this is a mini-auction, franchises are likely to focus on making strategic and intelligent picks in response to the various changes that have transpired;

1.     Manish Pandey

Following his impressive performance in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Manish Pandey is likely to be on the radar of several teams in the upcoming IPL. Despite describing the IPL 2023 season as modest for his current team, Delhi Capitals, Pandey, being an accomplished Indian batsman, could be a prime target for other franchises. Renowned for his batting skills, Pandey has consistently delivered in the IPL, showcasing the ability to anchor innings and unleash aggressive shots as needed, making him a valuable asset for any team.

2.     Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur is known for his right-arm medium-fast bowling and has been a valuable asset for his teams. He is capable of generating pace and has contributed with both wickets and economical bowling spells in the IPL. After being transferred from Delhi Capitals to Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous edition of the IPL, Shardul was released by KKR on Sunday.

Considering his ability to pick wickets at any stage of the game, he will certainly be one of the top buys but his recent form might be something that the franchise would be looking into.

3.     Harry Brook

After making a significant impact on the global stage with his exceptional stroke-making ability, Harry Brook secured a spot in an IPL franchise. However, he struggled to replicate his form in the IPL, managing to score 190 runs in 11 matches so far, with an average of 21.11. His highest IPL score is 100*, and he has hit 23 fours and 4 sixes in his IPL career. In the IPL Auction 2023, the Hyderabad franchise secured Harry Brook's services for Rs 13.25 Cr. In the recently concluded World Cup 2023, Brook did not have the best outing so it will be interesting to see how the auction go for Brook.
