Sanju Samson might be an out-of-favour cricketer in his national team, but in the IPL, he is up against many big names. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper is one of the finest big-hitters in the current Indian team and he has showcased that in the league over the years. Samson has hit 182 sixes in 152 IPL matches, a decent part of his 3888 runs. The Kerala-born wicketkeeper batter has three centuries and 20 fifties to his name.

4. Suresh Raina (203 sixes)

Known as 'Mr. IPL', Suresh Raina at his peak was one of the most destructive batters in the league. Batting at No.3, the former India all-rounder has been the backbone of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting for more than a decade. Out of his 5528 runs in 205 IPL matches, 1218 runs came through sixes as he hit 203 deliveries over the ropes. The southpaw has hit a century and 39 half-centuries and boasts an impressive strike rate of 136.73.

3. Virat Kohli (234 sixes) 

Not many would have expected the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain's name in this list. Kohli is not a power hitter but he has shown that anyone can easily hit over the ropes with proper timing. The classic batter is the highest run-scorer in the history of the IPL with over 7000 runs. In his 237 matches for RCB, the 35-year-old has smashed 234 sixes and 643 fours. 

2. MS Dhoni (239 sixes)

The 42-year-old MS Dhoni has always been a nightmare for opponents thanks to his captaincy brilliance and batting prowess. At his peak, Dhoni's bat would regularly deliver mammoth sixes and his trademark helicopter sixes. The talisman of CSK is arguably one of the greatest finishers in the history of the game. Out of his 5082 runs in 250 IPL matches, 1434 runs came in the form of sixes as he dispatched 239 deliveries into the stands. 

1. Rohit Sharma (257)

Be it Team India or Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma has no problem in hitting sixes. With over 250 sixes, the veteran opener holds the record for most sixes in IPL history by an Indian player. One of the league's most successful skippers, the 36-year-old has scored 6211 runs, including one century and 42 half-centuries, at a strike rate of 130.05.
