Abu Dhabi Knight Riders won their third game of the ILT20 season to move to third place in the table. The game on Wednesday night against the Gulf Giants saw Sunil Narine and his side win by six wickets with 10 balls to spare.
There was a hilarious moment in the game when Gulf Giants were batting. The fourth ball of the 18th saw Andre Russell bowl wide outside off stump. Pakistani batter Usman Khan, standing deep in his crease, was trying to cut the ball. The 28-year-old could only smash the bat onto the stumps and was out hit wicket.

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders coast to easy win to claim the third spot –
Sunil Narine won the toss and chose to bowl first. David Willey got the first wicket when he bowled Jamie Smith for 1. Imad Wasim then got the huge wicket of James Vince for 11 to leave the Gulf Giants at 21/2. It was a great start to the game as Abu Dhabi Knight Riders were looking for a win to move into the top three spot.
Jordan Cox and Chris Lynn combined forces to add 72 runs for the third wicket. Chris Lynn in Particular was severe on all the bowlers as he scored 67 runs off 48 balls. Usman Khan contributed with 23 while Jordan Cox scored 21 to help the Gulf Giants team reach 161 from their 20 overs. Andre Russell and Imad Wasim picked two wickets each with the ball.
Chasing 162 to win, Mujeeb Ur Rahman dismissed Joe Clarke for 14. The Afghan bowler struck again to get the wicket of Alishan Sharafu for 11. Michael- Kyle Pepper though kept the scoreboard ticking with 59 runs.
Andre Russell struck an unbeaten 30 of 13 balls to help Abu Dhabi Knight Riders win the game. The game on Thursday will witness Dubai Capitals and Desert Vipers lock horns to keep their tournament hopes alive. The winner of the game will move temporarily to the 4th place with Gulf Giants having played only 5 games.
Meanwhile, MI Emirates continues to lead the table, with Sharjah Warriors taking the second spot. Dubai Capitals and Desert Viper are in the bottom two positions of the table. With half the tournament done, the race for the top places is heating up.
