Abu Dhabi Knight Riders 165 runs to win
After winning the toss, the skipper of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) won the toss and elected to bowl first. The bowlers of ADKR did not have the best start as both Colin Munro and Alex Hales started well but the left-arm duo of Joshua Little and David Willey took crucial wickets upfront and with skipper Narine and Ali Khan made sure that Desert Vipers were restricted to a below par score of 164/8. The star for Desert Vipers was Adam Hose (45). For ADKR, Ali picked up three wickets while Narine picked up two wickets.
In response to the modest total, the ADKR chased down the target easily. Andries Gous was lethal upfront as he bombarded the Vipers' bowling with blistering hits from ball one. Despite losing his opening partner Alishan Sharafu in the second over, Gous never took a step back and went all guns blazing. The South African batter ended the game with 95 runs off 50 runs with five fours and seven maximums guiding ADKR to a six-wicket win in their first game.
