Ahead of the IPL 2024 player auction, Lucknow Super Giants have released the list of players they have let go of. The team made their IPL debut in the 2022 season, alongside eventual winners, Gujarat Titans. The Lucknow-based team has played two Eliminator matches in the 2022 and 2023 seasons and lost both of them. With this, they finished fourth after the tournament.
Meanwhile, the player auction for the next season will take place on December 19 in Dubai. For the first time in the history of the tournament, the auction will be executed outside of India. In the next few days, the teams will exchange players via trade windows. Meanwhile, without further ado, let's have a look at the players released by the Blue Brigade.
Players released by Lucknow Super Giants
Avesh Khan - 10 Crore
Daniel Sams - 75 Lakh
Jaydev Unadkat - 50 Lakh
Romario Shepherd - 50 Lakh (Trade)
Suryansh Shegde - 20 Lakh
Talking about Avesh, he was the costliest uncapped Indian to be signed at 10 crore in 2022, going past Krishnappa Gowtham in 2021. The former didn't have a great season in 2022 and didn't get many games in the 2023 season. Apart from him, Sams came into the team after leaving Mumbai Indians for whom he played in 2022. Jaydev Unadkat also had the same journey as Sams.
A while back, West Indies international Romario Shepherd has been traded to the MI. Also, the uncapped Shegde didn't play a single match during the 2023 tournament. With only five players released, they have close to 20 players from the last season and will play in the 17th season that will be played next year.
