The second Test between India and England is progressing excitingly in Visakhapatnam. In response to India's competitive first-innings score, England got off to a flying start thanks to opener Zak Crawley's 'bazball' approach. However, the home side managed to pull things back quickly and the joy was reflected in captain Rohit Sharma's body language.
The tourists restricted India below 400 on Day 2 and their openers complemented with a strong start. Ben Duckett scored at a rate of more than 120 but could resist for a long time. With birthday boy Crawley going great in the post-lunch session, England were 114/1 in the 23rd over. The right-hander was looking to break down the Indian bowling attack, having scored 66 off just 51 balls.
However, Rohit's move to bring in Axar Patel into the scene paid immediate dividends. The left-arm spinner got rid of their main threat (76 off 78 balls) and also triggered a mini-collapse. Elite pacer Jasprit Bumrah removed Joe Root (5) and Ollie Pope (23) in quick succession to reduce England to 136/4.
Bumrah nails yorker to leave Rohit in dilemma
India continued to search for another breakthrough, putting England in the back seat. Bumrah created a chance by hitting Jonny Bairstow's pad with a yorker off. It seemed like a close call and Rohit was in a bit of a dilemma on whether to take the review. The skipper consulted wicketkeeper KS Bharath and the bowler, both of whom lacked confidence.
What followed was a hilarious moment between Rohit and on-field umpire Marais Erasmus. The veteran opener was so desperate to get a wicket that he was forced to jokingly ask Erasmus about his thoughts on the delivery. "Marais, what do you think?" Rohit was heard saying on the stump mic.

Rohit finally decided against the review as his wish was not supported by anyone. However, later on, the ball-tracking technology also confirmed that the ball was just sliding down the leg.
Meanwhile, Bumrah dismissed Bairstow right after the tea break on Day 2. Fuller than a length outside off delivery forced the Englishman to play the drive but it got away from him. It took the edge and fed to Shubman Gill at first slip, leaving England in dire straits - 159 for 5 after 36 overs.
