Virat Kohli likely to miss third and fourth Test against England - Reports

In what seems to be a big setback the Indian Cricket Team, former skipper and modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli is more likely to miss the third and fourth Test of the ongoing five-match Test Series against England. The media reports have learned that he is also in regular communication with the management, including the skipper Rohit Sharma and the selectors as well.

Meanwhile, the fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the Indian Cricket Team’s squad for the remaining three Tests of the five-match series against the Three Lions. The high-octane Test Series is currently levelled with a score of 1-1 after two Tests, with England winning the first Test and the hosts crossing the line in the second Test.

Coming back to Virat Kohli, he was a centre of attraction both in social and mainstream media, alongside the Indian cricket fans after he withdrew his name from the Indian squad for the first two Tests against England.

“Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons,” the Indian Cricket Board had said in an official statement through a media release.

“Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention,” the statement read further.

Furthermore, the star Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patidar got his maiden Test call-up in the Indian squad for the second Test of the five-match series against Ben Stokes & co. He also got a chance to make his debut in the second Test as he was included in the playing XI to bat in the middle-order.

Indian Cricket Board might look ahead to continue with the options, including the likes of Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar as a replacement for Virat Kohli in the third and fourth Test.
