Team India is gearing up to host its first home Test series in the 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. The Men in Blue will take on England in a five-match series starting on Thursday, January 25 in Hyderabad. It will be a tough challenge for the visitors as India have a dominant record on their home soil. They are unbeaten for 11 years, but interestingly, were last beaten by England when they lost 1-2 in 2012/13.

The upcoming series will excite the fans as it will be a battle between England's 'bazball' and India's spin attack. The Three Lions have confirmed that they will stick to their attacking style, but it remains to be seen whether they can enjoy success on India's spin-friendly pitches. Meanwhile, from the Indian side, captain Rohit Sharma will be expected to lead the charge with his power-hitting and daddy hundreds.

Rohit was not in great touch during the two-Test tour of South Africa. However, he has a good record in India and recently played a sensational knock against Afghanistan in his return to the shortest format of the game. As India prepares to lock horns against England, the veteran opener is also eyeing a massive world record.

With his 554th six a few months ago, Rohit surpassed West Indies legend Chris Gayle in the list of most international sixes. Now he is all set to add another feather to his cap with his big-hit prowess. The Indian skipper currently has 590 sixes in international cricket and is just 10 more maximums away from becoming the first player on the planet to hit 600 deliveries over the rope.

One of the most devastating openers across formats, Rohit has played 467 matches for India and has hit a six at an average of 1.26 in every international game. With the probability of India batting in 10 innings in the upcoming red-ball series, Rohit is likely to achieve this feat in the coming weeks.

Apart from this, the 36-year-old also has a chance to become the Indian player who has scored the most sixes in Test cricket. Currently, the record is being held by former India opener Virender Sehwag with 91 sixes in 104 Test matches. Rohit, who is third on the list with 77 runs, needs 14 maximums to overtake Sehwag. Meanwhile, he needs just two sixes to climb to the second spot by overtaking former Indian captain MS Dhoni (78 sixes in 90 Test matches).
