Kohli's absence from the ongoing series against England, owing to personal reasons, hasn't escaped notice, and India skipper Rohit had some insightful remarks to offer. The legendary India batter disclosed that having observed Kohli closely, not many are aware of the rigorous regimen he adheres to when off the field.

Furthermore, he commended Kohli by highlighting that the esteemed batter never availed himself of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, where most players go to address their fitness concerns. This underscores the high fitness standards Kohli has upheld over the years, making him a genuine role model for aspiring youngsters.

“I feel lucky to watch Virat Kohli from a close range. He is passionate about the game and is always there with the team. People are unaware of what he does off the field to keep going. Virat is dedicated and hunger grows with every series,” Rohit Sharma told Dinesh Karthik on JioCinema.

He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved: Rohit Sharma

The talismanic India batter also elucidated that certain changes must originate from within oneself, and he advised young players to observe Virat Kohli as a role model, adapting their attitudes and approaches accordingly. Rohit also emphasized the necessity of being hungry to represent the Indian team and highlighted that this hunger should always remain. Sharma wrapped up by emphasizing that the main requirements to play for the national team were passion, hunger, and pride in representing India.

"I have watched Kohli enough. He can easily be satisfied with what he has achieved. He can say that I will take it easy in these 2-3 series, I will come later, but he is always there for the team. That mindset of being hungry and not complacent cannot be taught. You have to learn that by looking at the others. It has to come from within. I cannot teach you that," Sharma said.
