Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav, R Ashwin's - heroes behind India's Ranchi win

Backed by Joe Root's century, England managed to post a decent first-innings total of 353-10. Young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal again put in an exceptional performance but the rest of the batters failed to contribute. The hosts were in trouble after losing 7 wickets for 177 runs. However, debutant Dhruv Jurel played a valiant knock holding hands with Kuldeep Yadav.

Jurel fell short of a well-deserved century by just 10 runs, but his knock along with Kuldeep's 131-ball 28 runs reduced England's lead to less than 50 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep combined for 9 wickets and the visitors were bowled out for 145 in the second innings. Chasing a target of less than 200, India faced some hurdles but crossed the finish line with the loss of 5 wickets on Day 4.
