However, he expressed his satisfaction and team-oriented mindset after his crucial knock of 90. While his innings fell short of a hundred, Jurel asserted that he has no regrets and emphasised his primary goal of contributing to India's series victory.

In a press conference following the day's play, the 23-year-old highlighted the pressure of making his debut. He also spoke about his camaraderie with Kuldeep Yadav, with whom he shared a significant partnership during India's innings recovery.

He said, "It is my debut series, so obviously there is pressure. I was thinking about what the team needed from me in that situation. I have a good rapport with Kuldeep; we are both from UP, and we kept speaking to each other. I have no regrets about missing the century in Ranchi. My only dream is to lift the series trophy with my own hands. It was my dream to play Test cricket for my country."

Can Rohit Sharma lead India to a series win?

Jurel's impactful innings in Ranchi follow his impressive debut Test performance in Rajkot. He had scored a resilient 46 in the only inning he played. As India aims to clinch the series against England, Jurel's maturity and focus on team goals bode well for the team's overall strategy.

Considering England's ability to mount a successful defence in the opening Test in Hyderabad, where they defended a modest total of 230, Jurel's contributions become even more significant. With India currently leading the series, the team, led by Rohit Sharma, remains vigilant and focused on securing victory in the remaining matches.

In the ongoing game, India needs more than 152 runs to win the game. The team is poised to win the game as they have all ten wickets in their hands. Skipper Rohit, along with his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, have gone unbeaten till the stumps.
