The former Australian captain Michael Clarke commended the performance of the frontline pacers in the recent Test match held in Visakhapatnam between India and England. Despite the challenging conditions of a flat batting track, both bowlers displayed their skill and ability, earning praise from the World Cup-winning captain. The former Australian cricketer was impressed by Jasprit Bumrah's performance, as he claimed six wickets in the first innings and three more in the second to assist India.

“Bumrah, what can you say! He is a freak. His skill is used in conditions that are not conducive to fast bowling, it’s unbelievable. He is a freak,” the 2015 World Cup-winning captain said speaking to ESPN.

Jasprit Bumrah's remarkable performances have propelled him to the summit of the Men's Test Bowler's rankings, marking a historic milestone for Indian cricket. He is the first Indian fast bowler to achieve this feat, joining the ranks of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Bishan Singh Bedi as the fourth Indian bowler to accomplish this distinction.

The pace bowler has played a crucial role in India's success across all three formats and has consistently demonstrated his excellence, particularly in Test cricket. In addition to it, Bumrah has notably participated in four consecutive Tests since December 26, 2023, prompting widespread speculation that the team management may consider giving him rest for the upcoming third Test starting on February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. With the India Premier League (IPL) around the corner followed by the T20 World Cup, it will be interesting to see what the team management as well as the speedster decides.
