Yashasvi began his innings carefully, but on Sunday he displayed amazing power-hitting to prove that he is just as good in limited overs as he is in Test cricket. On Sunday, Yashasvi Jaiswal was the very first Indian batter with two double hundreds during a Test series against England, creating a new Indian record.

Yashasvi, who was injured on Saturday and had to be retired, came back to bat early on Sunday morning to continue his innings. In just 87 balls, he and debutant Sarfaraz Khan put up a rapid 100 runs together. Yashasvi ensured that India was heading for a 500-run lead during the second innings, despite the hosts losing a well-positioned Shubman Gill to an unlucky run-out at 91 runs.

More records broken by Yashasvi Jaiswal

As Yashasvi reached 10 during the second session of Day 4, he also surpassed the Indian mark for most sixes in an innings during a Test match. A record achieved by legendary batter Navjot Singh Sidhu for thirty years was broken by him.
