It will be fair enough to say that it was Indiaโ€™s day. After a dominating performance with the bowl on Day 1, the Indian team came back even stronger on Day 2 of the first Test against England in Hyderabad. The pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill started Day 2 with 119/1 on the boards, but after hitting a brilliant boundary on the second ball of the day, Jaiswal was caught and bowled by Joe Root at the score of 80.

After this Gill and KL Rahul tried steadying the ship for the Indian team. But soon after that Gill (36) also perished trying to up the scoring rate. However, this was the pattern throughout the Indian innings as there were five half-centuries but none of them flourished to reach three digits. In addition, three Indian batters crossed 80 runs or more. Once Gil was dismissed Shreyas Iyer and Rahul took on the attack back to the English bowlers with aggressive stroke play.

However, in trying to score quick runs Iyer (35) got out to the leg spinner Rehan Ahmed who picked up his first wicket in the series. Sooner, Rahul (86) also fell trying to hit the ball aerial and missing the length altogether. This was the second 50-plus score for the wicketkeeper batter in three Test matches which shows the volume of his form. Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to this;
