The leg-spinner took to Twitter and posted a cryptic message which read “To hold it together when everyone else thinks otherwise, that’s the true strength of a warrior”. Chahal captioned it by saying “See you at work”
It isn’t clear to whom the message was directed but from what it indicates it is for the Indian selectors. The 33-year-old last played an ODI game for India earlier this year versus New Zealand in Indore picking 2/43.
The last T20 game for Chahal came during the tour of West Indies where he was hit for 51 runs from his 4 overs. India went without the Rajasthan Royals player in the IPL for the 2023 Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup 2023.
On Thursday the 33-year-old sent a timely reminder to the selectors as he grabbed his 5th LIST A fifer. Haryana’s leg-spinner picked 6/26 versus Uttarakhand to help his team win the game by 6 wickets.
Batting first Uttarakhand posted 207 runs on the board with Yuzvendra Chahal running through the top and middle order. Chasing 208 to win, Haryana got the score in the 45th over with Yuvraj Singh top-scoring with 68 runs.
After this performance, many fans praised Yuzvendra Chahal and wished him luck for a swift return to the Indian team. If the veteran bowler can keep up this performance it may become difficult to ignore Yuzvendra Chahal and a comeback could be on the cards.
