Mohammad Amir terms young India star next Yuvraj Singh

Former Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir has lavished praise on a young India star on Twitter. The player in question is none other than Rinku Singh who has made an amazing start to his international career.

On Wednesday Mohammad Amir took to Twitter and wrote “Rinku Singh can be next Yuvraj Singh for India any thoughts? This tweet came after Rinku had scored 63 runs during the final T20I in Bengaluru.

It has been a great start to his international career for Rinku Singh so far. The 26-year-old has played 15 games and scored 356 runs with two fifties and an average of 89. The left-handed batter has scored his runs at an amazing strike rate of 176.24.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was lavishing praises on Rinku Singh after the game on Wednesday. At one stage, India was in trouble at 22/4 but Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh then added 190 runs for the fifth wicket.

The exploits of Rinku Singh did not go unnoticed across the border. Mohammad Amir was effusive in praise for the young star on Twitter and called him the next Yuvraj Singh.

Speaking at the end of the game Rohit Sharma said “The last couple of series that the played, he showed what he can do with the bat. Very calm and knows his strength pretty well. He is coming of age and doing what is expected of him and he has done very well for India.”,

India’s skipper also said, “It augurs well for the team moving forward. Wanted someone like that in the backend and we know what he has done in the IPL and he has carried that to the Indian colours as well.”

After losing four early wickets the need of the hour was a huge stand and that’s what Rohit and Rinku provided. “Creating the partnership was important and we kept talking to each other to not lose that intent in the big games and it was a good game for us to be in, the pressure was there and was important to bat long and deep and not compromise on the intent,” he said.

Rinku Singh though was all praise for Rohit Sharma and took to social media and posted a picture of the pair. The young batter wrote, “Every moment in the middle with Rohit Bhaiya is a masterclass in learning, fun, and achievement.”
