The 2023 Capcom Pro Tour has led us to the Capcom Cup, and this year is something special. Street Fighter 6 released as a huge success back in 2023. The game was even awarded as the best fighting game for the year.
Capcom Cup is one of the most popular esports event in the Street Fighter esports scene. It is the annual culmination of the Capcom Pro Tour and has been running since 2013. Fighting games in recent years have gained a lot of popularity, leading to increase in prize pool every year.
Massive prize pool
With the success of Street Fighter 6, the Capcom Cup X has now features the biggest ever prize pool of over $1.7 million. What’s even more shocking is that despite the prize money being split across all participants, the winner will still take home $1 million.
However, the competition will also be fierce, with 48 participants competing this year. While the Capcom Cup IX also had the same number, the prize pool was only around $300,000. All the participants will be spread across eight groups of six people each.
