What does IESF do?
IESF hosts the World Esports Championship. The 2024 edition of the WE Championship will be hosted in Saudi Arabia. It is set to feature some of the major gaming titles like StarCraft, FIFA, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and many more.
This year’s WE Championship is also expected to be much larger in scale. This year’s championship will take place in Riyadh in November. While the championship still has a long to go, more regional tournaments are expected.
While the organization might not be as famous as mainstream esports tournament hosts, they do play a crucial role in the esports industry. Multiple local tournaments are also hosted by the IESF every year. This helps in providing aspiring players an international exposure.
The organization is working to bring multiple esports titles into the Olympics and help promote esports across multiple countries with the help of local esports bodies. In context to India, it is the Esports Federation of India (ESFI).
