Lewis Hamilton suffered heartbreak and lost the F1 2021 title to Max Verstappen in a controversial manner. Having won the Gand Prix in Brazil and Saudi Arabia, Hamilton looked set to retain the title after maintaining a healthy lead over Verstappen for the majority of the race. However, FIA director Michael Masi shockingly allowed the lapped cars between the title contenders to pass through. Verstappen then edged past Hamilton in a one-lap shootout to win the title. Hamilton was devastated after the loss. Soon after, speculations started doing rounds that Hamilton might retire from the sport.
While Hamilton didn't comment on the issue, he is doing strange activities on social media.
First, he boycott F1 ceremony, then unfollowed them on social media. Days after, the seven-time champion launched a mission and unfollowed everyone on his Instagram account. The stalwart was following 700 people on Instagram. Surprisingly, he unfollowed Mercedes and other fellow drivers as well.
It must be the close season…the biggest news this morning in F1 is that Sir Lewis Hamilton is no longer following F1 on Instagram…

Hamilton's brother Nicholas revealed that his brother wants to take a break from social media which is why he has unfollowed everyone. He said, "I think he (Lewis) is just having a bit of a social media break, which I don’t blame him for. Social media can be a very toxic place. But he’s cool though. He’s fine. He’s watching the kids ski at the moment."
Despite the speculations of his retirement, the fans are optimistic about Hamilton returning to the court and grabbing his record 8th title.
