A second-half brace from Cristiano Ronaldo led Al-Nassr to a commanding 3-0 win over Al-Okhdood Club at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh on Friday night. Although Ronaldo had a quiet opening, that soon changed as the game entered the closing stages, with the 38-year-old once again wowing the crowd with a spectacular display.
Al-Nassr took an early lead in the game when midfielder Sami Al-Najei scored in the 13th minute. However, they were unable to extend the scoreline until the final 15 minutes into the full-time. When it looked like the game was going to end at 1-0, Ronaldo rose to the occasion and netted two goals in quick succession.
In the 77th minute, the Portuguese icon skipped past a couple of Al-Okhdood defenders before finding the back of the net from a difficult angle. Within three minutes after mesmerising the crowd with a beautiful touch, Ronaldo shook the opposite net with a stunner that will arguably enter the 'Goal of the Season' list.
The Al-Nasser captain made the scoreline 3-0 with a long-range goal. After the ball fell to his feet about 30 yards from the goalpost, with the goalkeeper rushing near to close him down, Ronaldo showed great awareness and chipped the ball to send inside the net.
Known for his attacking shots and brilliant lobs inside the box, Ronaldo has wowed fans throughout his career. But his long-range lob goal against Al-Okhdood was a screamer that fans rarely get to see in the game. The Riyadh crowd went berserk, the commentator was over the moon as they witnessed something remarkable from one of the legends of the game.
