The ongoing UEFA Euro Cup is reaching its climax now. A total of 16 teams fought superbly for a place in the last 8 and the fans witnessed some extraordinary goals and fightbacks. All the 8 matches went down the wire with goals raining in the game between Spain and Croatia.
The round of 16 started with Denmark going past Wales by 2-0 and then Italy surviving the Austria scare by a whisker in their 2-1 win. The saga of kind of upsets then began as Czech Republic stunned the Netherlands while Belgium were the deserved winners against Portugal.
Spain conceded an own goal thanks to their goalkeeper earlier but then stormed back scoring 3 goal and with five minutes for second half to end, all seemed fine for them. However, Croatia stunningly fought back to level the scoreline only to concede two more goals again in the extra time. France then came second against steely Switzerland team as Mbappe missed the penalty in the shoot out.
Ukraine and England then defeated Sweden and Germany respectively on June 29 which finalized the fixtures for the much-awaited quarterfinals. After a break of a couple of days, the Euro Cup will resume on July 2 when Switzerland and Spain will face each other while the world number 1 Belgium will challenge Italy.
