Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably one of the greatest footballers in the world. Even at the age of 38, the Portuguese superstar is proving to be a tough competition for youngsters in terms of skill and athleticism. Known for his incredible speed and agility on the field, the star forward is one of the most influential athletes in the world.
Meanwhile, Spanish legend Fernando Torres heaped praise on Ronaldo for his ability to perform well in big matches. In the former striker's view, the Portugal captain is the greatest big-game player in football history. As Torres said, Ronaldo's performances in big games have been the highlight of his glorious career.
“Maybe there is not a bigger game player in the world than Ronaldo, and those are the nights that he loves," Torres said.
It is noteworthy that Torres, a FIFA World Cup and European Championship winner, has come face-to-face with Ronaldo 17 times in club and international football. Of that, five times the former won, seven times the latter had the last laugh.
Ronaldo is ahead of Neymar, says Al-Hilal manager
The manager of Riyadh-based club Al-Hilal, which competes in the Saudi Professional League, says Ronaldo is ahead of his star forward Neymar. According to Jorge Jesus, the Brazilian striker puts his personal life ahead of the game, while for Ronaldo, the game comes first.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has more passion for football and, therefore, puts that as a priority," Jesus said.
"Neymar has more passion for other things and he puts these other things, which is his private life, ahead. But as a player he is fabulous and as man, I spent a month and a half with him, he positively surprised me in everything," he added.
Ronaldo, since arriving at Al-Nassr in December 2022, has scored 38 goals and 13 assists in 44 competitive games. He has been a key player for his side this season, registering 24 goals and 11 assists in 25 games.
